Biography

Anthony Burks, a native of Florida, is recognized for his work as a conceptual fine and commercial artist. His creative process spans a wide array of media, including charcoal, pen & ink, pastels, watercolor, and colored pencil. This versatility has allowed him to explore and express a variety of artistic concepts and styles throughout his career.

Education and Recognition

A graduate of the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale, Burks has been honored with numerous grants, fellowships, awards, and contests over the years. His achievements include the Artist Innovation Fellowship from the Cultural Council for Palm Beach County, an NBAF (National Black Arts) grant, the National Artist Relief Covid-19 Grant, and the Men of Excellence Award for the Arts presented by the West Palm Beach Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta.

Professional Collaborations and Exhibitions

For over three decades, Anthony Burks has managed ATB Fine Art Group Inc. (ATB) alongside his wife, Trina Slade-Burks. Through this company, he has collaborated with numerous organizations and companies, further establishing his presence in the art world. His works have been exhibited in multiple galleries, museums, and events, and have been acquired by both public and private collections. Notable places include the Canopy Hilton Hotel in Downtown West Palm Beach, the R.H. Norton Permanent Collection at the Norton Museum of Art, the Broward College Permanent Collection, and several public art commissions, such as a community street sign and a permanent installation for the City of West Palm Beach’s Art in Public Places and their Community Redevelopment Agency. His work has also been featured on numerous Tyler Perry Productions.
